Mom's work is never done - or paid

In April 2008, MomConnection members were asked for their opinions on pay for motherhood. More precisely, what is an appropriate wage for the mom-related daily tasks you perform. 34% said that the job, which is difficult and requires a 365 day per year commitment, is worth $100,000. Even though no mom actually receives pay for valuable motherhood services rendered we know you still love your mom role, and get paid for it in more important ways than money.

Intrigued by the survey and its results, the New York Daily News applied findings to stay-at-home mothers in the New York City/Long Island area. Based on local pay rates, the paper calculated an annual mom salary of $69,135. The paper went on to detail the daily duties of three local moms and record their opinions about getting paid, or not getting paid, for the work they do.
